Wow what a car, absolute respect to this build. It’s more Toyota than the new supra
@dj4monie4 жыл бұрын
Wa-Wa. Toyota would have never built the BRZ/FRS/86 or Supra without a technical partner GET OVER IT. There is not enough demand for these vehicles despite your myopia.

@@dj4monie For Toyota to be a successful company, they have to be smart. It is not only about getting a technical partner, as Toyota is quite capable. To develop a NEW sports car takes a lot of R&D = MONEY. Then sales of the sports cars, for a company like Toyota will barely offset the cost of R&D, seeing that there are other dedicated sport car manufacturers out there with their offerings. There is no point making let's say 15% profit on passenger cars like Corollas, Yaris', RaV-4', Camrys, (that's where the profit is), and then losing on the GT86 and Supra. If they sell to make the 15% profit, the cost of their sports car will be expensive, and buyers will gravitate to the other brands. That is why Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, even MB, Audis and BMWs are so expensive. " So...............let Subaru and BMW make the cars for us. We will just put our badge on it. After paying them, even if we make 2% profit on it, it is still something and we did not spend on R&D." So, the money to be made is in passenger cars, not sport cars. Toyota is smart !

@@ramishrambarran3998 you're telling me a company worth 200billion usd dollars can't pay their own workers in their own facilities to design a motor and platform for one of their most iconic halo cars comeback after 20 years
@ramishrambarran39984 жыл бұрын
@@Driftmonkey Toyota or for that matter, ANY big car company is not in the business of pleasing a million or so enthusiasts. They are in the business of making money. Not doing that has resulted in the demise of many companies before. I was pissed off at using BMW, because I believe Japanese engineering is superior. But it makes good economic sense for Toyota.

My uncle had a Ford Pinto Wagon two door very similar to this. With the 2000cc EAO engine which has been the basis for the Formula Ford engines (after the 1600 Kent and before the Zetec) with bolt-on parts used to smoke 240Z's all the time. (Header, Weber/Holley carb, Camshaft and Hemi muffler).

just love that nowadays a guy with a 800whp streetable car can use the word "reliable" to describe it, look 10 years back and I'd be laughing at such statement... I wonder what 10 years in the future will hold for us, but I imagine we're almost plateauing in terms of what can be done with known materials

Pretty sure he’s manualised it by a simple wiring mod. The a340 is controlled via solenoids so wiring it that the gear shift position switch controls it is very simple. Goleby even was one of the first to post online how to do this back in the day.
