The SM is so advanced it is hard to believe! Just think of the Diravi steering!

The SM even has a rain sensor for the wipers which is based upon resistance of the wiper blades. When you see all that you must get the impression, that VW engineers at the time didn´t even know how to read and write!

SM was first car with an air bag way back in 1970, thought too expensive to mass produce - look how far ahead of their time they were !!!!

The "mushroom" brake control is far ahead of all other designs. You get the fastest respons with this type of pressure sensitive control. (And not how far down you press a conventional pedal)
