I was 11 in 1971 and remember some of these ads, I actually had a 71 Chrysler Newport in 1977 and a 71 satellite a couple years later, it's funny seeing these images of a simpler time.

53:17 - Bell Directory Assistance - There's a clever in-joke here. Note the last number the guy asks for. The actor is Joe Ponazecki, who was on early episodes of "Sesame Street" in the "Buddy & Jim" and "Baker" (as the man who opened the mystery doors) segments.

1:35 - Cheryl Ladd for Wella Balsam conditioner. 2:38 - Louis Guss as the moving man in the Yellow Pages ad. 3:08 - Squire Fridell for Toyota. 6:13 - L.A. Rams QB Pat Haden, Houston Oilers running back Earl Campbell, and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson in an NFL-themed 7UP commercial. Larry Santos sings the jingle. 7:14 - Ron Carey as Max (the guy on the right) in the Yellow Pages spot. 10:46 - In the Charlie ad, Shelley Hack is Charlie, Mary Jo Catlett is the cabbie, and John Launer is the florist. 12:17 - Orson Welles does the voiceover on the Perrier commercial. 12:58 - In the Maybelline Kissing Stick lip gloss ad, the first dancing girl is Jayne Modean. 13:29 - Rick Hurst is the guy in the bathrobe in the Quaker Corn Bran spot. 15:31 - Avery Schreiber for Alka-Seltzer. 16:32 - Vic Tayback (?) as the male passenger in the Continental Airlines ad. 18:01 - Joe Higgins as the sheriff in the Dodge Dart Swinger commercial. 21:01 - Alice Playten and Terry Kiser for Alka-Seltzer. 24:10 - Allan Melvin is the man in the Dodge Polara ad. 25:39 - In the Bic lighter spot, Florence Stanley plays Oscar's wife, and William Newman is the potato farmer. 26:40 - NBA great Willis Reed for Alka-Seltzer. 29:40 - Michael McManus is the dad in the Atari 2600 commercial. 30:10 - James Harder for Coca-Cola. 30:41 - Gunilla Knutsson for Noxzema shaving cream. 31:10 - Mel Blanc as Sylvester for 9-Lives dry cat food. 32:40 - James Whitmore for Ken-L-Ration Tender Chunks dog food. 33:41 - Andy Granatelli for STP oil treatment. 34:41 - Joe Santos is the celebrity spokesman in the ad for the 1980 Toyota TC3. 38:11 - James Garner and Mariette Hartley for Polaroid's One Step camera. 39:11 - Jesse White as the Coca-Cola rep in the Coke commercial. Also at 42:01 and 44:34. 43:32 - Mason Adams does the voiceover on the ad for Nytol sleep aid. Lou Jacobi plays the barber at 43:41, and Vincent Price is at 43:55. 44:03 - Casey Kasem does the voiceover on the Century 21 commercial. 44:54 - Noam Pitlik as the car salesman in the spot for the 1971 Dodge Charger SE. 45:24 - In the FTD ad, Michael McManus as the patient at 45:31, and Roy Stuart is the doctor at 45:37. 50:48 - No famous faces here, but Fanta root beer was my all time favorite soda. It was discontinued by Coca-Cola in the mid-1970s, but was brought back a year or so later as Ramblin' root beer. Ramblin' was discontinued when Coke began manufacturing A&W root beer. 51:20 - Mason Adams again, this time for American Express. 53:17 - Joe Ponazecki for the New York Telephone Company. (As another commenter noted below, the last name he asks for is actually his own.) 54:57 - Bruce & Christie Jenner for the Minolta SG-1 35mm camera. 57:26 - Arthur Prysock sings the classic jingle for Löwenbräu beer.
