I grew up in Palm Beach County, in the 1970s. But in a trailer further north and west, far from this lifestyle (and I have no regrets.)

these women seem so fake, can't bear to finish - money does not buy happiness and nothing wrong with a trailer, you probably had a better sense of community than others

@PB PB I did, actually. The trailer park is still there, and is again just as run down as it was back in the day (I moved out forty years ago.) My grandfather's trailer home, put in in 1970, is still there. Ours was scrapped. Ironically, my dad died in a trailer home in the high desert in New Mexico, and my mom is living out her years in another in a mountain town in North Carolina.

@@Just1American1966 that's great you had a community! sorry about your dad, mine is gone too - what town were you near? know east coast well, been going since a kid to Jensen Beach (fave), Hutchinson Island, Juno + later moved to WPB and lived there almost all of adult life but now it's too crowded, it just keeps coming up from Miami and it's not sustainable for a swamp - found an "old florida-ish" area, barley any condos, super chill and safe, up north on east coast a bit but after covid hit, the prices quadrupled!

@PB PB The old trailer park is between the towns of Lake Park and Loxahatchee. They tried to make it a 55+ community back in the eighties, but it's simply gotten too dated for that, especially for Palm Beach County. Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't been leveled and redeveloped yet. My elementary school was next to it. I was down that way a few weeks ago and drove by. The old school has been raized and is being replaced. Many childhood memories were in those old corridors.. I didn't move far. I'm currently in St. Lucie County (didn't know what was going to happen here when I arrived, or I would have gone further!)

I've lived on the West Palm Beach side of the bridge growing up. I wonder, does anyone remember Vota or spelled Voda - she was apparently a Palm Beach Socialite that went mad - and the last time I saw her in her dirty, moth eaten mink coat - was in the late 70's. I believe that The Palm Beach Post ran a story about her when she died shortly after. She scared me as a child, but as an adult it makes me sad her family obviously cared nothing for her when THEY lived in luxury in Palm Beach!
