I was at this race with my good friend Steve. I remember it well. We camped the weekend and caught qualifing and the race on Sunday. I have lots of pictures. We lost Steve to cancer in January of 2010. Brings back great memories. Where has all of the time gone?

Saw Gapp & Rousch run that Maverick at Quaker City and Norwalk In Ohio back in 71. Car kicked ass. Wayne Gapp could sure row a 4-speed with the best of them.

Starts off with Bob Kovacs/Kovacs' Bros. owned Anglia from Cleveland, I think Richard Deucker may have been driving here. Ken Dearborn's white SS/GA Camaro is in the far lane at the 0:15 second mark. BJ Thompson's Corvette at the 1:17 mark catching a bye run. BJ won Street Eliminator at this event ! Arlen Fadley's GT-2 Mustang @ 2:19 mark. This video is LOADED with GOOD stuff !

No takers for the BRAND X car? ;) - That thing was insane. The Mustang that followed after the Camaro right after had the beast stance going on. Great slice of history, thanks for sharing! :)

Skip Shirley's Arizona based 6 cylinder powered @ '54 Corvette in the far lane at the 1:27 mark. Shirley was an AHRA tour regular in formula stock eliminator. He's paired up somehow with Rich LaMont's WIBG Radio Maverick Pro/Stock here...

My dad and uncle had a 1964 GTO called Underdog it was a popular car from 65-72 at National speedway and York. They even held the national record in E/S. I never see footage and they were there like every weekend he has over a hundred trophies was wondering if you remember the car.

@JOHN ALLISON My fav was Glidden's 70 Mustang. Don't remember what yr but older cars could be raced for a while. My own car was a 70 Mach 1 so you see why. The 4 Dr Maverick was very different tho. Heck not even my fav Roush car. That would be M Martin's 97 Stroh's nascar bird.
