We all lost our minds when the CB750 came out in 1969! They were that far ahead of all competition. Revolutionary, iconic, whatever praise you can come up with, they deserve.

That’s true but it didn’t take Z1 900’s long to eclipse them in 72-73 .. still both are iconic bikes today.

Love the CB750s, brings back some great memories. I had a 1982 when I was in the Navy stationed in Mayport, FLA. I took many trips from Mayport (essentially Jacksonville) to Worcester, MA for hometime. Your '71 is spectacular! 😎👌

Been riding for a loooong time. Had a candy garnet brown '71 CB750 Four. Only have the original Honda service manual and 1 photo from '71. Have all kinds of so called superior bikes now. Think of it daily. No bike imo had the look, sound and feel of the K1. Would trade my house for one like this. Who ever ends up with it is one fortunate sob.

1971. I remember going down to Orlando Honda just off of Highway 50 and old Cheney Drive. Looking at this bike and looking at the price tag. Thinking wow that’s a lot. The bike with some thing else, there again back in 71 Kawasaki came to the forefront with the the H1 500 triple. Nicknamed the Widowmaker. Are used to ride from Orlando Honda over the RC hills Kawasaki. Which is where I bought my first bike and 71 for $236. They were cheap back then. Not now. Any moment I expect him to come riding down the hill on the Maico 490. It’s a shame we can’t go back to those days and buy a couple of those bikes already in the crate and bring them forward.

I bought brand new 71 Honda Candy Gold CB 750 as a 16 yr old high school sophomore. Dealer had just received 5 and I bought mine for $1,395. I made $1.60 hr back then, but I worked and paid for it. Rode it the next few years rain and snow and put 36k trouble free miles on it, then traded it on a Pantera. I now ride a 22 R1, 22 GROM, 84 CB700SC Nighthawk and still looking for another 71 CB 750 with the HM300 pipes. I probably missed the auction for this one, but I’ll keep looking. These things keep me young.

Have one I bought new at Dick and Walt’s Honda in Whittier California. It was originally Candy Garnet Brown. We repainted it Planet Blue Metallic. A color not available in North America on the K1. It has HM300 exhausts but they are OEM replacement parts purchased in the early 90s. Long since discontinued. Most of the originals that came on the bikes rusted out from the inside. Biggest problem with those bikes is the front signals. One good knock and the headlight will break. Poor design that was changed on the next version The gauges are K1 only. At least they have glass lenses unlike the plastic K0 version.
