The most beautiful Mercedes-Benz ever made! Mechatronik of Germany do a great job on these. They upgrade the chassis, electrics like windows and sunroof and fit a 5.6L V8 during the restoration. To top it all off the car can be returned into immaculate original condition at any time. Fun while owning, original when selling!

I totally see your viewpoint (and I assume you’re just talking about minor things like the reflectors on the side fenders, etc.). However, I think it really depends on what the car was like before the restoration. If the car came into the country fairly early after production, the U.S. required changes on the car (reflective side markers, and such). This particular car, while a European version, was ordered with all of the options that came on the U.S. model (Behr a/c, electric windows, etc.) and so now that the restoration has been done, it looks like it did when it was first on the road in the U.S. as a new car.

He didn't say it was a European spec. He said it was a European delivery. A U.S. spec car that the owner took deliver of in Germany. You can still do that today to combine delivery of your new Mercedes-Benz with a vacation in Europe.

I know of a 1971 280SEL sedan with a the big 4.5 V-8 and I have often wondered if it would be worth the time and money for the owner to restore it. Perhaps I'll pass this on.
