1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Euro European in Red & Engine Sound on My Car Story with Lou Costabile

On "My Car Story" we're in the Suburbs of Phoenix AZ on 6-30-18.
We're looking at a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Euro European in Red Paint. This car comes with the factory “Power Pack” option.
The car's Owner is Phil Lutfy. Phil’s had this car since 2013. Phil shares the car was formerly owned by French Film Director / Producer, Screenwriter, and Actor Claude Lelouch. Phil believes this car when new was originally a “Mercedes-Benz Show Car” in Paris based on all the factory upgrades of chrome, polished, and finished engine pieces under the hood.

Phil has so many great cars! What's so cool is every one has an interesting story. Every time you do a video on one of his cars, he goes off somewhere and produces some period correct extra or trinket. The trunks are full of unobtainium that is all amazing. It's just the whole package, and I love your segments with him. Even if he still makes me think of Eeyore every time, and he still looks like he needs a hug. :D

On Claude Lelouch... In 1976 he made the film “C‘etait un rendezvous-vous“, a short (9 minute) film showing a dash across Paris on near empty streets, all filmed from the front bumper of a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9. You’ll find the film on KZbin under the French title. Well worth nine minutes of your viewers’ time !

A red 280SL, the green house roof with the narrow A-pillars would give you a wide clear view of everything. So German and well made, it's a dream car. Thank you Phil for sharing.
