Amazing looking! The AMG Mercedes 300 SEL 6.8 was the big start of success for AMG. They tuned it up for racing and in 1971 they did get the 2nd place at the 24 hours race of Spar-Franchorchamps. But back then they did it with the "rote Sau" (red pig) - so the same car but in red. The yellow pig was used for the season finale in 1971 in Hockenheim and in 1972 for the 48 hours test drive in Le Mans. Amazing start of a great history of AMG which nowadays doesn't do the racing anymore. They splitted the company. So AMG is now part of Mercedes-Benz for their special tuned cars while HWA is still doing the motorsport stuff. Luckily in July I had the chance to see the red pig at the Mercedes-Benz Museum - they are showing it in a free exhibition for the 55 years anniversary of AMG in level 0 but only until end of this month. Haven't seen the yellow pig.
