1971 motorcycle RESTORATION Full

Hello everyone. I am starting the restoration of my new project. I bought this bike for $ 70. He was in a terrible state. I want to do a complete restoration of it. I bought it without wings. I'll need to buy the missing parts for it. And this is not very easy because this bike is very old. I hope you enjoy my new restoration. Thanks a lot.

Это новодел, откуда катушка высоковольтная? Д-6 даже не езжаный, звезда ведущая целая, без износа зубьев, и вообще смесь рамы Д-4,двигло Д-6, магнето Д-6, у меня даже ездило картер Д-4 правая часть со сцеплением,правая Д-6 с магнето и коленом от Д-4 в 1976г 5класс сш. У тут лет демонстрирует возможности механика....ММММ да куда катится..

Спасибо! Вспомнил детство и юность. Если не ошибаюсь, то это "РИГА-11". Такая рама была и у "ЗИФ-77". Потом стали делать раму из одной трубы. Там шли "РИГА-12" - бак на крыле заднего колеса. И "РИГА-13" - бак на раме. Помню покатушки.

это рига 7)))5 лет детства)))откатал))только у меня желто-красная была))и шик был заводить на ножке рукой с небольшого толчка.и еще выкручивали с глушака сзади гайку с трубкой и звук под спортивный..))бывало человек 20 соберемся на подбных и глушаки совсем снимали. о рев был)))

Мопед, сборная солянка. Руль, колёса, сиденье, крылья - Рига-11. Рама, бак, багажник - Рига-7. Двигатель тоже сборный, картер Д-8Э который штатно ни на Ригу-7, ни на Ригу-11 не устанавливался и зажигания от Д-6. ЦПГ, возможно компиляция Д6-Д8Э.

The engine is not original, becouse riga 7 had D6 engine, but here is the D8E engine and it only was on riga 13

I can not tell you exactly but the points should be closed just before the piston reaches the top , then the engine fires and the points will open , 360 degrees and the same thing will happen . How to set it exactly i am not sure , maybe there are some markings on the engine .Wish i could help more but theses engines are new to me , i worked on Japanese for a while , alot different to theses Soviet ones . Saw an engine at the local second hand market a few days ago , all in pieces . Like to get a complete bike , dont care about the condition of the paint as long as the engine is o.k . @@MrTarmonbarry I know how the ignition is supposed to work, but I just don't know how to set it up because it's doing weird things. For example, when I set the preignition to about 1,6mm, the maximum distance of the points(which is in top dead center) is about 2,5mm and on other bikes its always 0,4mm.

If you look at the tools this guy is using you will see he does not have a lot of cash so the paint is all spray cans and maybe whatever he can get his hands on in whatever quantity . At least he is trying , more than can be said for a lot of critics on youtube

oophf - those welds...... :( and I don't think a cinder block on a stick is a great tool for engine rebuilds.. At least put a bit of rubber on the end and, I dunno, wrap it in cling wrap to stop little bits of it falling into to your crank bearings? Whats up at 16:18? Did you notice that the tool didn't even go onto the nut and you just kinda twiddled it in the air? Actually - you actually tightened all the stuff yeah? You seemed to finger tight nearly everything. Pretty sure both ya goose neck bearings are in upside down too. Looks tidy at the end tho.

lack of tools is not an issue, no ratchet in sight, Russian tools for Russian bikes. i have the same 10mm / 13mm combo wrench, you're quick to spot theatrics, how could you have missed the clutch screw being peened in place before the cover is installed? i'm quite happy with the editing. don't believe everything you see in movies. agreed on the lower bearing being upside down, good call. at least he didn't grind the fender rivets this time, no money for a clutch or taillight. looks like he's restoring a bike every three months or so, hope he can keep up the channel. have you caught the three part trabbi rebuild on aging wheels, check out 2stroke stuffing, or Rescue story channels. i've only rebuilt 3 cycles in the last year, 2 were 4 strokes, and i don't do paint

This is classified as a moped at least here in the States. And the motor is from 1983. I don’t want to accuse you of intentional click bait. But even with a simple quick glance I spotted the date on the engine. Therefore it can’t be from 1971 as the title proclaimed.

A poor rebuild. Piston has deep scratches in it, the gasket is too big under the pot. The bottom steering bearings were put in upside down, the welding of the crack was useless as it was welded on the old weld. The chain for the pedals is not the right one as it doesnt fit properly.

@@sahsakozusok123 у меня была 7ка почти 10 лет. Работала на 93бензине по скорости не уступал друзьям на верховинах, за 10 лет не открывал крышку магнето, не менял свечу.. Мотор вообще не вскрывался. Ломалось только привод от педалей да не горела фара и задний фонарь, после зимы заводилась прокруткой заднего колеса на четверть оборота
