My favorite car of all time, with great colors. Love the hubcaps with trim rings. No rear spoiler or rear window slats make for a nice, period-correct look.

It makes no sense to me that a Mustang II would be more interesting than this sweet ride! I was only 11 yrs old when these came out & I remember wishing my parents would buy one of these. Dad was driving a '64 Galaxie with a 289 & Mom had a '69 Camaro with a low powered 350.

I was more of a 69-70 Stang fan..I had a 68 390 Cougar XR7 and a 71 351C Cyclone GT. If I could find a solid 71 (hard to do here in Michigan)and a 429/460 bolts in, that is something to consider. Thanks for posting Kevin.

The 1971 Mustang was not the only year for the 385 series engine. In 1969/70 Ford made a Boss version of the 429 rated at 375 HP.

Like the Cammer (SOHC) 427 is an FE by architecture but shares little with its 390/427 s.o/428CJ cousins. The Boss 429 is a 385 series block.

Can you explain the differences between the 351 Cleveland and Windsor the 427-2428 to 427 side Oiler the 427 drag pack the 427 Super Cobra Jet the 400 modified which I know was a truck motor the 460 which was a pig 427 side Oiler that came in the AC cobras why was Ford so obsessed with the 428-420-7429 why were they make a 429 Super Cobra Jet and a 429 boss I don't understand their method to their Madness

The topic of love-hate relationship with the style? I think it doesn't need to be compared to other mustang styles: it has a style of its own. Interesting to me is the interior reminds me of a '69 firebird: the 2 large gauges and the squared centre dash piece looks familiar!

I love that car with a 429.... big, Bigger BIGGEST! That '71 is as wide and is as heavy of not heavier than my '68 Torino. Personally, I'd rip the hub caps and beauty rings off and store them in the garage.

They should have left that cheap looking chrome trim piece off and repositioned the indicators to leave the grill clear, and maybe add another pair of headlights; you don't have to decorate everything. I think the entire body treatment is boarderline (but acceptable), untll the eye meets those stuck on looking parts. Case of less is more.

I was never a real fan of these cars due to that back window visibility was not good. This car here I'd take because of the 429 cobra jet motor and 4spd.

agree. I remember back in these good old days, we were going out partying one night, but to get to town, we needed wheels. my buddy had lost his license so he couldn't drive, so I had to. his sister lent us her 71 mach 1 for the night. it had no 429 in it though. mostly what I remember from that night, was how terrible the visibility was out of the car(mainly the rear window). but these cars were designed for going forward anyway.

You don't just have a hard time choosing certain muscle cars because of visibility. This is the U.S.A. You don't care about visibility as long as you're hauling ass in style and droppin' panties at the end of the day 🎸🇺🇸😎🤘

Huge differences cept for the Block. Heads are Aluminum on the BOSS and much bigger and better design. This is more like a semi hemi...wish they would have made an Aluminum version...Kaase Engines made I believe a P51 Head to bolt on the 385 Series - 429/460 Engines!!!

So with 613 cars built, that makes this car affordable than the boss 429 or boss 302. Also correct me if I'm wrong, but is the 1971 BOSS 351 also a big block car because its a cleveland engine? I want to know. I like all of them. Also the 1972 428 engine? Ain't that also a big block? Which was also in the mustang !!!!!! I like and respect all of them however I am a little mislead about the so called LAST OF THE BIG BLOCK MUSTANGS.
