May we call these examples of the truly American style in its fullest completeness? Great rides.

I worked at a Buick/Oldsmobile dealership in the mid 70’s. This was my favorite year for the 88/98.

I would always gravitate toward something like this even when things would start to get weird!

Truly outstanding camera work - shows off the features and design so well. This is how sales videos should be done. 👏🏽

Beautiful automobile!!! That's one of the vehicles referred to as a land yacht. I'll bet it drive's and rides exceptionally well

Mom and Dad's car. It was so floaty it made my sister-in-law carsick.
@GatewayClassicCars2 ай бұрын
I remember that feeling as well! It's like floating on air with a bit more sway in the back seat. Thanks for sharing!

I've liked these '71 98's since the day I saw them in the showroom when new, I like the way the fender skirts bulge out at rear wheels and with those "mini" fins I thought it could've passed for a Cadillac.

@TomSnyder-gx5ru To me Olds and Caddilac were pretty close. Although they sandwiched the buick in between them. Lol!!

I had a 1969 Ninety-Eight in the late 80s in mint condition and I absolutely loved it…although it would not pass a gas station.

Thank you for sharing Veronica! Before we know it, they won't be able to pass a charging station.....

That long hood with the ridge going down the middle is so 1970's! I have a 1970 Buick GS convertible with a similar hood and hood scoops. I just bought a 24 Acura MDX and noticed it has the same hood style, an added plus and brings back great memories.

My Dad had one of these when I was a kid. Loved it. Always hoped he'd have it long enough for me to inherit it. Was not to be. It was the Regency model,fully loaded. Silver w/Black top.❤

Anthony, thank you for sharing! I was fortunate enough to get my vehicular inheritance prior to my dad's passing, but I'd give the car back in a second if it meant more time with him.

@GatewayClassicCars No doubt. My Dad was so proud of it. He was an Olds man through and through. His first Olds was a 66 Holiday 88(I believe), a 67' Delmont 88 and a 69' Delta 88.🤎

I think it was Tom Cahill who wrote for Mechanics Illustrated who called the 71 98 "the smart man's Cadillac.." we test drove an identical one but my folks went with a fully loaded light blue 71 98 LS. It was nicer than our neighbors 71 Sedan Deville.
@jeffreydavis9783Ай бұрын
I own a 71 LS sedan myself with just over 21,000 original miles. It rides & drives like a dream (my son & I took it cross-country last summer) but $22k is ridiculous.

Why would you repaint this beautiful car in diarrhea brown? Bad choice on the family's part.
@ferrochinabisleri15872 ай бұрын
Well I do think this is the original color, if not paint job. Also I think it's a typical '70 nice color.
