One of the ONLY THINGS? Obviously you have no idea of what a classic cult horror film should be. Phantasm is one of those unique horror films that didn't copy for any other film and for the 300k budget, it was an amazing film which from the 40 million dollar gross if you can't see that then you are not a true horror fan. Phantasm is the best from the Libyan director Don.

WOW, i still remember the first date i had with my then friend ADY,LATER MY girlfriend (and.later my wife), we went to the movies to watch, "cellar dweller" and this masterpiece at the local drive--in, one of the few there were at that time at monterrey, mexico , back then, i had just bought my ´68 gts dodge dart from a buddy of mine, AND I WAS SO SHOCKED for being so close together from ADY ,that i did not paid proper attention to this black beauty, actually, i bought this movie years later (vhs) to take a closer look at it, i mean who could pay any attention to anything else when ADY was around??? she was a beauty, but i had to watch this car too, a big conflict in my opinion...once, she told me "i remember that car stealing your attention from me at the drive-in, how could you do that to me??? i wore a miniskirt for you, and you end up falling in love with a damn car, i should have slapped you right there.... " good memories, good times, thanks for sharing this ,man....

In 1980 when I was still in high school I came close to buying a '71 340 Cuda but didnt have quite enough money right then. It was like an Acapulco blue in color with the pistol grip shifter but was automatic and not stick shift. I think the interior was black but I'm not sure. The car looked good (for its age) but had a few minor issues. The asking price was like $1400. That sounds like bullshit but 40 years ago they didn't really cost that much since they were old but not old enough to be classic or antique. Also, unlike now, there were still plenty of muscle cars of that era to chose from. Where I lived at the time Mopar muscle cars of the late 60's early 70's took a back seat to Chevelle's, Camaro's, GTO's, and Mustangs in terms of popularity. Still though, I would have sold my soul to the devil to get that car.

$1400 is a very realistic number for 1980. I paid $950 for a 70 RT (383 mag 4 spd) that was not great mechanically, but was straight with minimal rust.

Although the Cuda is definitely one of the best MOPARS and American Muscles around, I gotta say the '68 Charger from Bullitt has it beat (on my list) by a 1/8 mile lol.

I was with an old friend. 2003 stop bye his job he was working on some one's deck in merriville ind and I was restoring his 81 corvette he said stick around till the house owner gets home he's got a few cars. In his garage I was like what ever. When the owner opened the door I seen a 71 cuda black with the big flared quarters. And really old school white striping was not till years later I had seen the original car I must have spent years trying to find the house my friend had passed. Yep it had a 318

Unfortunately , the car went to a production crew member after filming where it sat in his driveway and then sold to an unknown person and completely vanished. Only clue was a early 80 's C.H.I.P.P.S episode taking place on a used car lot with a guy checking out a orange Camaro, and in the background is a car which clearly appears to be the 71 "Phantasm" Cuda. In real life it's a 340 4speed car, and the production company made it to look like a 440 6pack car. To this day it's never surfaced and may not even exist.

@@alexnosiay9498 the car from phantasm was supposed to be a hemi cuda but was a 340 \4 spd car.
@alexnosiay94985 жыл бұрын
Tom Wolak read what I wrote. In the original Phantasm movie the car was made to look like a 440 6 6bbl car. It's shown on the hood on a quick scene. In the sequel it's a hemi. Like I stated the car in the original film is a factory 71 Cuda 340 with a 4speed .... and wasn't in good condition -- but managed to make it through filming sequences.
Great movies, great car. Its not the same Cuda in every movie though.

Cuda is great, but I would rather have a 71 Satellite decked out the same way, in black with similar 5 spokes. For years after I saw this movie when it came out when I was a kid, I swore this car was a Satellite until I saw the movie again about 10 yrs ago.
@PrinceofMacedonVlogs7 жыл бұрын
nice clips! But it's actually a 'Cuda :) Barracudas aren't as high-powered, and there are slight cosmetic differences
