Old style with new technology....nice car. I'm stuck with a 73 Duster 340 bored .030 over Hurst 4 spd & 3.55 rear with matching numbers. Bought it from the original owner in 1980 for $1,400.

My first car was a 73’ with a 318. Dad paid $600 for it and I made payments of $50 a month until it was paid off. Wish I still had it.

Needs more hemi twin turbos and a wider rear end it would just be torn down to the bare shell if i got it so a junkyard dart or duster is more what i need if there are any left.not that i dont trust overhauling but from what ive seen them do on the show ill do it myself thanks

Goes to show, there's going to be someone who goes overboard restoring an old, desirable, but not that desirable classic. $137K for a '71 Duster, from an investment perspective, is ridiculous, but for the amount of work involved to bring this particular car to this level, isn't bad because of what it would actually cost to replicate. Caveat Emptor...
@Kman.6 жыл бұрын
*05gtdriver* Yes, another perfect example of putting too much into a car. I mean, nice is nice, but it's certainly not *137k* nice did you note? Whoa. If I were to put that much into a car, I could find a *WHOLE LOT MORE* car for the money than this one. They put a $137k price tag on it so they can look like a hero when they drop the bottom out of the price to sell it!
@blueduster746 жыл бұрын
05gtdriver and there was no reason to spend that much. This is Steve Strope’s Dustya from 10-15 years ago. He had less than 40k in that one. I am building something similar(68 Cuda) that won’t have 30k in it. Obviously mine will be simplier. Forged 392, T-56 Magnum and 3.55 geared 8.75” are all ready. Body, wiring and suspension are all in progress. Already built a 71 Dart with my Formula but a W2 Head 360 that time. The guy that bought it still tracks it. It’s not 137k worth of work unless you just want a show car. Hell, Kenny Wayne Shepherd doesn’t have that much in any of his Mopars.

Price is Rediculous
@Profabdesigns8 ай бұрын
This is NOT a $254,000 build. Is it a stunning hot rod? Yep, but take it to Barrett-Jackson and you can snag it up for a cool $50-65k cash. The market is there for this car. Even in the 2000’s at its peak, you’d be hard pressed to pay over $75k.
@austinclark38096 жыл бұрын
So sharp. Wish it said 392 instead of 340. Still sharp. That being said it's a duster. Not a challenger, cuda, or road runner. Prime example of maybe putting that much time and money in a car isn't worth it. 140k? You guys are fucking delusional.

im not a fan of these restomods with ugly wheels . i own a 71 duster factory h code 340 four speed and its old school all the way . mine is purple with black vinyl roof , minitubbed with centerline rims . engine is a 71 340 with edelbrock aluminum heads , comp cams thumper roller cam, lunati roller lifters and roller rockers . edelbrock air gap intake with a billet holley 750 . for headers im running hooker super comps . all stock interior with factory buckets and factory rallye dash . including what i paid for the car. ive got about 30,000 into it and if mine was parked beside this blue one ill bet more people would prefer mine . lol
