1972 C10 LS SWAP Build Series PT.5

Getting closer to wrapping things up. In this episode, my sons help me take the hood off and get the old engine out. Then I install the fuel system and fab up a bracket for the DBW pedal.

thank you so much this video help me so much i’m putting A 4.8 LS into a 1970 GMC truck and I haven’t found any videos besides this one and help me a lot and I found out the clam shells and regular 350 motor mounts do work with a dirty dingo motor mount adapter plates my friends have been saying it won’t work and I got to get weld in mounts

What year fuel pickup did you use?

It is the stock style pickup that fits the 72 tank.

Great series so far, Jeff. It is a really cool truck and you are doing a fine job. I would caution against using so much rubber fuel line. You could route those lines the same with hard line. You've never mentioned whether you plan on taking the truck to the drag strip, but NHRA rules only allow for a total of 12" of rubber fuel line on the whole vehicle. I got a cheap bender and made up several hard lines for my son's Camaro. Once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty fast.

Nice video series! I am in the process of ls swapping my 72, and am planning to use the in cab tank as well (for now). How is this fuel system setup working for you? And what pump are you using? (Looks like a Fitech system.) Thanks?

I used a Holley Terminator X Max system. It costs a little more than Fitech but I've done 2 of them now and never had a problem with them. Fuel pump is just an inline wally with a corvette regulator/filter.

@@JeffLyle Cool! I haven't tried the terminator x. I'm too cheap, LOL! I got a guy that builds harnesses and deletes the unneeded stuff. And I just tune the stock ecm with HPTuners. I ended up just using some generic pump that the local racers like, installed on frame rail. I wanted to try the stock tank behind the seat. And the pump seems to work fine. Also just used stock return style fuel rail. All good so far.
