WHY THIS VEHICLE?
This piece of motorcycle history is in fantastic condition. It starts right up with its electric starter or by using the kickstarter. The controls are simple to use and riding is both fun and exciting. All of the paint is original and shows only minor wear. The trim and chrome looks great with only minor blemishes. We have detailed and cleaned this bike throughout to make sure the paint and upholstery is as clean as possible. We have made sure during our inspection process to confirm that all service is up to date and this CJ is ready to ride. We have spent nearly $2.5k in improvements and updates. Including new spark plugs, brake fluid, fluid service, and much more. This Chinese rendition of the legendary Ural M-72 has a special place in history just like the Urals. Utilized both by military and civilians, the Chang-Jiang helped move people en mass throughout the countryside.

Absolutely a very well taken care of example and updated with all kinds of nice things, it brings me a lot of memories to look at this, and hear the sound of it because I used to ride one in the army in the old country for two years in compulsory service back then. I would buy one given the opportunity to find an example like this. I’m not sure how much this one went for, if you have another one like this, please let me know. I am specifically looking for the Chinese version CJ 750 because that’s the one I used to drive in the army.

OH, we thought it was Black indoors, but I see it’s Green, green and tan is our Favorite color 😍🥰 and the Chrome too, and the sound, great. 😎👍✅

The OHV bikes were primarily civilian, the flatheads were almost all military and, apparently, it was illegal for a civilian to own one of the flatheads for quite a while over there... (Info from Jimbo Davis in China who puts R80 BMW engines in old beater CJs and resells them, or at least used to)

direct translation of chang-jing is long river, put two wards together means Yangtze river. it is popular motor car in old days. I doubt it was made in 1972 when culture revolution was in its peak. this one must be the product of 1980s or late period when stock market was established in China

I agree, but to be honest don't know the exact timeline of the Chang Jiang models. But there are basicaly three different models M1(6V), M1M(12v) and M1S(12V). The first to are side valves and the M1S is a head valve design. That would make the displayed motorcycle a M1S i.s.o. a M1M.
