I always liked the look of The ‘72 full size Chevys. The last year before the big bumpers.

Amaaaaaazing condition for a 50yo car, especially that flawless brocade interior. Wow.

I had two cars before age 16. A 76 Chevy Monza at age 13 and a 79 Grand Prix at age 15. The 1st car I bought at age 16 and legally drove was a 72 Caprice absolutely identical to this one... same color, interior, wheel covers and all. My dad and I power tuned the 400sbc and I put a cassette player in it. Most played cassette was Lynyrd Skynyrd's: Second Helping. Racked up tons of miles country cruising and making laps around town. The car was very rusty and once the engine started getting tired I sold it and bought a 1980 Grand Prix which I thought at the time was much cooler. I'd love to have the 72 Caprice now.

The full-size Chevrolet cars from this era were like low-buck Cadillacs. Solid, dependable, built to run for decades with basic maintenance. Less than a decade later we had 80,000 mile recyclable cars that disintegrated by design.

Wow those power window regulators are in great condition. Power windows on most 50 year old cars are slow, have chatter, or don't line up properly. All signs the regulators need to be rebuilt. These are like new. Very nice.

Had a '73 Caprice Classic. Build quality of a high school shop project. Crappy vacuum HVAC, electrics failed, emissions nightmare, topped off with loads of rust

Loved that generation of Chevy full-size cars, which spanned from 1970-76. I had a '73 Caprice, which was very similar to the '72, except for somewhat different grill, and also the 5mhp bumpers that were mandatory for 1973. That '72 is a great looking original version. I never liked the 'low riders and 'donks'. Always prefered when they are kept as they looked off the assembly line.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane! Bought a 72 Caprice in 73. Great car except for gas mileage. One of finest examples of Baby Cadillac! 🏆. Sad there are no longer any comparable vehicles available. Hell, even Cadillac and Lincoln are mostly glorified trucks with astronomical prices! ☹️. 🤮

Literally the only reason I know this car is because of the makers of James Bond at the time made a deal with GM in live and let die
@bradparris992 жыл бұрын
I remember that and seeing the guy that picked up Bond at the airport wore both the lap and shoulder belts. A year or so later when I turned 16, I got my grandfather's 1970 Buick Electra to drive and out of curiosity I buckled up both the lap and shoulder belts and got in the habit of wearing them. Fast forward to 1980 and coming home one weekend from college and a drunk driver hit me head on. Because of the size of the car and the fact that I was wearing both the lap and shoulder belts in the collision I walked away with only bruises from the belts.

Wow that's a nice one, grandma n grandpa had their car but their children drove them everyware. One day she died her husband had died ten years earlier, the kids inherited the car and some fast salesman with a modern eco pod loaded to the gills with epa mandate equipment got the car on a trade in, tehm saying it's just to big,drove off in their new One Wack it's on a rollback epa mobile. Toataled only doing 45 miles an hour bumper cover car.....Shouldah kept that wonderful metal chevrolet. I luckily in 2006 found a 1976 caprice with 1680 miles with dealer window sticker on the right rear window and bought it over the phone for only $14000.00, it now has 2300 miles on it.triple blue with tilt wheel cruise power everything.with 2 inches of dust on it hidden. Away blocked in by a dead Rolls Royce.....I love the 1972 front end I have the Kingswood wagon 1972 snapped it up mortgage crisis for only $1500. With only 43000 miles California no rust...I am amazed at the ePay prices on these cars. I'll sell my house my land my sole but never my cars.
