1972 Dodge Dart Restoration, Final Prep and Paint. This is what is called a backyard paint job.

To be clear this is what is called back yard paint job because you do all the prep and paint yourself in your back yard. The outcome is only limited by your self motivation, materials, tools, skills, and back yard. 1972 Dodge Dart gets final prep and then painted. So much Prep work. This Dart would have ended up in the junk yard, its poor old body was almost to far gone for most people to afford to repair. So my thinking is it is what it is, and as long as the frame is not unsafe the rest can probably be repaired with enough money or work. This video show how much work and rework and rework it will take if you tackle it yourself, as a amateur hones there skills as a paint and body man. I you have the time, desire and drive to finish it. Just note I have a lot of self motivation, and a lot of people would give up when they can not finish the first day.

The more you prep the better out come you'll have. Don't rush it you came this far take your time and do it right. The paint job will look better on good body work. I've done that before rush a customer's car and when it got painted I seen a lot of defects in my body work. The customer wss happy he didn't notice it but I did and that was enough. Next job I did I took my time until I felt like it was ready for paint. Sand block sand block primer sand block primer sand block prime. When the paint went on it looked like glass. It was a 1970 C10 short bed even the painter said who ever did the body work did a good job.
