I had a 1973 Ford Rancho and it was a great vehicle !!! Drove and ride was like a car of that age but couldn't handle any real weight in the back or bed . I loved it regardless as it was a great vehicle !!!

Wow, that's a Nissan President behind it. Someone went through the trouble of importing it from Japan, they never sold those here in the states. Extremely rare in this part of the world. So sad to see it burnt up like that.

Whoa Nelley, hard it, and that's it. We got the VIN, we win. From the top: 2 for 1972 model year, A for Atlanta, GA assembly, 47 for Ranchero 500/2 door pickup delivery body style, Q for 351 V8 Cleveland 4 barrel, and the rest is the production sequence. We didn't get the tag, so we can't brag, but this one has been around the block a bit.

@@CowboyCarCrushing , it's either a 351 Windsor or a 302 in that Ranchero. It has a 2 barrel carb, not a 4V. You can easily tell it's a Windsor from the shape of the valve cover and the fact the water outlet comes out of the intake manifold. Cleveland engines have no water going through the intake manifold. The water outlet is on the front of the block above the timing chain on a Cleveland engine. The seats are from something else. I don't think they're even Ford seats.

Had a 78 GT with a 72 engine and a 79. Neither had ash trays. It's my understanding the ranchero is a converted station wagon. Maybe it has wagon seats.

It looks like a reupholstered 1974-1976 twin comfort (split bench) seat from a Torino or Montego 2 door. Ranchero 500's had a standard bench for all years. Optional and rarely ordered for '72 was a "flight bench seat" with pull down center armrest. But the seat bottom for that seat was also one piece (not split).

The Ranchero was built off the Torinos of the day so the front clips were the same for all the other body styles. Same with the seats.

I mean you could fix that if you had a donor car for like everything from the cowl forward but I'd part it out and make a trailer out of the bed. The reason it has ashtrays in the back of the seat is from the B-post up it's the same as a Torino coupe, same nose, same doors, etc. and same seats. In fact the floorpan is even the same, it's going to have a storage area under the front of the bed where the rear seat base would be.

Me to, i never seen this Ford in real life. I must say, some car you can buy only in USA (and intent), let just say, USA car market is a lot diferet then Europ car maket. And in Cowboy can't buy in USA Opel, Alfa, Dacia, Peugeot, Renat, Škoda (and more) this car can won't sell in USA. Ranchero is based on the Grand Torino, that's why the ash tray is on the back of the seats. That car looks like someone was living in it...

@@CowboyCarCrushing it's particularly sad because it appears to be a rare 351C-4V engine from the factory. The 4V is the good version of the 351 Cleveland. 90% of the Cleveland blocks in existence are the lame-o 2V variant, which makes the engine a fuel thirsty pig. The 4V variant has internals built for high RPM fun!

It's either a 302 or 351 Windsor with a 2V carb. Look at the shape of the valve covers and the fact the water outlet (thermostat dome) comes out of the intake manifold. 351 Clevelands (as well as similar engines 351M and 400M) have the water outlet on top of the front of the block above the timing chain. No water circulates through the intake of a Cleveland engine. The seats are not Ranchero or Torino seats. I don't even believe they're Ford seats.

The seats r not oem. The bench had a 1 piece back and bottom. When the seat moved or the back was tilted both sides moved. My dad had a 73 It met the same fate. I loved that truck
