In 1972, a radical change occurred in the Torino and Ranchero lines. The sleek, pointy look of the previous year's model was replaced with a larger, heavier design. Most prominent was a wide semioval grille reminiscent of a jet intake and a new body-on-frame design.

I have a '72 Ranchero GT. 351 Cleveland Q code Cobra Jet, Hurst shift kit, C6 transmission, 9" nodular, 425 posi., duel exhaust. Marti report says it was built Jan 6,1972 and is one of 762 that were built. They redid the frame on these after March 1972. It's all original, mint condition and I'll never sell it!! I LOVE my ride!!

I remember looking at a used 1972 Ranchero GT back in 1975: standard Hurst shifter on the floor...wish we would have bought it and experienced it...
