@@joenichols7194 Oh, they were but they had no good ac and the shifters hung up between gears if you were sloppy shifting! If I wanted O.T. on a Grumman Metro, I would just take a corner or curve to the right at a slightly higher speed. Tank was close to empty and it would stall from fuel starvation.

I'm pretty sure a check stop by a trooper, had he checked the tires for date and condition you may have been fined BIG time. But all went well ( or so it seems ) and you did make it safe but please no more risky trips. Other than that what a great model to convert to a coach. You didn’t have enough air in the system that’s why you are bouncing. 120 PSI is needed always. Good luck on your new toy. You need to find out what keeps buzzing also. Is it the air, low oil or low water?
@ResurrectedGarage2 жыл бұрын
It's the air, it built up enough to just turn off the buzzer through most of the ride. Fixing all the air leaks is next on our to - do list now that it is at the shop.

ImO it could make a nice Motorhome Conversion as it looks like it might be Geared for Highway ! The Engine sounds good when you get it started I was a Kid in New York when those buses went into service the biggest thing I remember about them being used for Mass Transportation was most of them were Automatic transmissions You need a Bungee Cord on that throttle for a temporary fix

That's really cool! Bungee cord would have definitely helped! You guys are very lucky to have made it home safe. You're also in way over your head with that thing. The Toro Flow diesel has a really bad reputation, finding parts for the Toro Flow is going to be a nightmare, and outfitting it with a Detroit is going to be next to impossible because the Detroit setup is a transverse setup with an angle V Drive Allison Transmission.. The Toro Flow is not transverse mounted. The bell housing is GMC only NOT SAE so transplanting another more reliable engine in that bus would be another challenge. Best thing to do is to cruise around locally with it because if you think you're going to cruise the United States with that thing, well you are going to leave it someplace on the side of the road and catch a Greyhound back home.
@KellanMeigh Жыл бұрын
The bellhousing is a very standard #2 pattern. The Toro-Flow only needs good, clean fuel and occasional head bolt re-torquing to live a longer life than a Green Leaker.

Because of that, in all all of our videos I have added a very brief Bible verse. (We live in the US so we are fortunate to be able to have freedom of speech, religion, etc etc while many others don't - it's what makes each of us unique). This video is mainly an overview of how the guys got the bus home, not so much as a how to. We've stumbled across a guy called the "Bus Grease Monkey" who does more videos geared toward that. Totally irresponsible what you guys did!!!!!! Driving on public roads with a vehicle that you do not know. It has air suspension judging by the bumpy ride, they seem not holding air. What about the brakes, brake lines and so on. And last but not least: the tires! They might blow up while driving at highway speeds. If a front tire goes, you won’t be able to keep a BUS on the road. I know, I’m a bus driver and I’ve been there! You brought yourself in serious danger, let alone other people on the road. Quite embarrassing watching this. Bye, Willem, Holland.
