I had a 71 250. 2.8 liter six with zenith carburetors. Auto, AC, white with red interior. Probably the best car I ever owned.

We happen to own an exact match to this car. 1972 250 my grandma inherited from her aunt who bought it new in Brentwood CA and owned until her death in 2012. We shipped to east coast by train, 80k original miles. Even have the order receipt and dealer plate covers.

The 250 body was designed by French auto designer Paul Bracq. If it is the /8 version it has the 2.8 twin carburetor, I believe Zenith 2bbl, engine that was found in the 280. This car has four wheel independent suspension, four wheel disc brakes and was available in automatic transmission that was a four speed. I have one, same color, blue interior. Second owner, first owner bought in Germany and had sent over. He was one of Hitler's atomic bomb scientist that we collected.

Sweet ride. I am purchasing a 1972 straight 250 sedan. Original everything. Not the best shape - but I would love some advice on how to get started. Another note - the car shifter is not on steering wheel, but in between seats; any relevance?

I need help with mine. 1972 250-8. VIN: 114011 12 008588 It’s real nice - but where do I start to get it looking as clean as this one and everything running smooth. How much should I plan to spend. I do not want to restore to perfection - just clean and reliable. Thoughts?
