I like the vent windows, the older style mirrors, the earlier taillights, and the steering wheel on this. Mine is a 1974, so it has the updated mirror, the steering wheel that is also on the w116, it doesn't have vent windows, and the taillights have slits in them. The Euro bumpers and headlights look so much better on these than the American bumpers and headlights. I have the American spec and the bumpers add about 3 feet to the car's length.

i had both and diferent steering wheels one is from early 60´s other till 76 with some finishings already like the w123

250 / 280 sedans also have the double front bumper, and the 280 always had the "long" rear bumper. I would have done the same "improvement".

@@enjoythiswayNL Yes, before the 1973 facelift. Only the long rear bumper on the 280`s was continued even after the facelift. These bumpers are much sought after now.

it´s a w114 the w115 was diferent in finishings,but very nice wish i hadn´t sold mine,this one is a mix of diferent finishings

The diesel makes it a w115. The w114 were 6 cylinder gas engines, the w115 were 4 cylinder gas and diesel (and the 5 cylinder om617 diesel). I've got a 1974 w115 240d. I like the earlier ones because they had prettier steering wheels and vent windows. Mine has the same wheel that the w116 has and it doesn't have vent windows. I would like for it to have those things, especially the vent windows because they are so useful. But mine has air conditioning, so that helps a bunch.

Well the front bumper is that of the w114 the more premium variant Both the sedan and coupe and the paint on the trunk is not really the same as the rear quarter panel so. Could very well have been replaced. And the H4 light is just everything but North American because of US regulations that make the sealed beam mandatory till 1986 when ford finally have in and wanted more aerodynamic headlights for the sable and Lincoln lines. And the us models had side marker lamps on the side both front and rear because of the change in headlights and to meet regulations. Steel is an alloy may I remind everyone. If it was not it would just be iron.

@@RUfromthe40s what about the size of the body? That's the same style cluster that is in my 1974 w115 240d. Mine is American, so the speedometer is in mph instead of km/h but the shift points look to be in the same place.
