Dad bought a new 72 turquoise Carina w/a white vinyl roof. That thing went through 5 daughters learning to drive and then all 5 driving it at one point or another. Pop the hood and you could see the road. Best. Car. Ever. Miss that thing.

In 1979 I had one we called her the blue Maru. I had a friend that was a machinist he built 4 barrel intake you had four two barrel webers on it😉 did some major valve work and lower the rear end ratio and my the car that looked like grandma owned it with the white walls would eat camaros for lunch at $100 a shot❤💕

My first car. Bought it at Toyota of Boston in 72 for $2,649.00. Needed a valve job at 44000. Probably cuz I raced the crap out of it. If ya boot it good it would move. Only 88 horsepower but it cruised great at 95 miles an hour. My wife and I did the wild thing for the first time and the second and the third etc in that little 4 seater. Once even on the hood. Ah ha ha.

Bob Arena mine too. Kept vapor locking though and flooding. Loved that car. Learned to drive stick in it. Had to sell it cause my dad wanted me to have a more reliable car. 99 tracer. Ended up putting it through a barbed wire fence once and totaled it hitting a hedge tree on a dirt road another time.

In 1972 I really wanted one of these, but I was only 14. Finally had a chance to buy one when I was about 23, but it was an automatic and an ugly pale green color. I didn't want one that much.
