Original chrome plating on genuine Harley parts will almost always clean up nicely with OOOO steel wool and a little elbow grease.

I agree most times. I doubt these were OG tubes, along with several other parts on this bike. The other issue was the fact that this bike was pulled from a fire and the heat distorted all the chrome into a gilded yellow tone. Even after cleaning up surface rust, the burnt yellowing would not go away despite polish/steel wool. Thanks for watching!

If I remember, you changed the engine sprocket. Refresh my memory please, you went to a 24 tooth from a 22 tooth? By doing this your RPM's are lowered at top speed?I remember something like that for a 74" rebuild yrs back.Question what year does a 24 tooth 1000cc come from? Keep em Rolling

Not sure on the years. I used aftermarket. With the kicker you're limited, and with a drum brake you're really stuck on gearing. I've always hated the ironhead gearing and that one tooth up front makes a huge difference for modern speeds. Thanks for watching!
