No needle bearings? I just busted a 1 liter down to the cases flipping rockers it feels gritty. Thanks for showing this. Pistonies had scoring front and back cylinders i think will hone out. Pistons are .010 over heads have been cleand up. Some one put time n love in to this grand before some degenerate beat the shit out of it

Hey mate! I am following your videos and saw that your big knuckle screw from the outside of the head is not fitting properly inside and there is a gap! Is that normal? I've also bought the kit and i have the same gap, even after tight it correctly.. do you have the same?

On the rocker shaft? Like the big nut on the outside of the rockerbox? The knuckle ones are kind of goofy if I remember correctly, as they thread onto a rocker shaft "stud". It's been a minute since I've messed with this motor. I personally prefer the stock style rocker bolt/caps.

Can I ask you a question? 1974 XLCH cases were split divorced the primary side what needs to be done to properly fit transmission
@WrenchingWrecked Жыл бұрын
I've seen this done, but have not ever done it myself, so unfortunately I can offer no insight on making a divorced transmission work properly. I would guess a ton of alignment verifications. Are you trying to put a big twin 4 speed behind it?

@@WrenchingWrecked this old 74 when I got it was abused s&s stroke kit 4 5/8 primary case half beyond repair had a old school Harley machine shop marry the cases and set crank runs strong except for a angry 2nd gear sometimes pops out may just be a worn fork or gear I personally haven’t pulled out yet to inspect it’s a stock transmission to my knowledge I thought maybe you might know what to check and how to check it I think it’s similar to line boring crank bearings

those ironhead transmissions are very strong! Not you, but many do not know how to shift and screw up cases! Unless you want to divorce the transmission, leave it alone....the twin cam and M8 Agave locked in transmissions...kind of ripped of sportsters! They work!
