Some people see a rust bucket. I see possibilities. Truly beautiful.

Wow, very cool! How's the car doing, and what does it look like these days? He had plans to install a big block in it....did that ever happen? Mike

Nice car. Looks like a lot of fun to drive. I just bought a 72 duster with 318 that the body is in amazing shape but I have to reassemble. I really want to put a 4 speed in it as it has auto but everyone around here wants 2k just for a transmission and thats without bellhousing, etc. Might have to settle for the auto for now and see if I can find a 3 speed with synchro.

Nice video. Cute car, you have every reason to be proud. Ahahahaha is the Mrs ok? You surprised her. Quadrajet is GM. Maybe you meant Thermoquad? You, your car, and your Mrs are pretty cool.
@imperial562 жыл бұрын
Haha, that was fun surprising her, but she's always been a good sport, through almost 40 years being with me and old Mopars... And you're right, I meant to say Thermoquad.

It's a nice car but I would have put a 340 or a 318 in it. That 360 is exactly the same engine I had in a Trailduster and it didn't matter what I did with it the best I could get was 10 mpg and that was whether I kept my foot in it all the time or I granny fed it. It would never change. There is one thing about that 360 with the 4 bbl carb though. It had a lot of power and would really move that big ol' Trailduster. That was a really fun vehicle especially when you took the fiberglass top off of it. I was told by a really good Mopar mechanic that the engine really needed a bigger cam in it and then you could start getting much better gas mileage. The cam that comes from the factory is for all purpose all driver types and is really a bad cam design for the engine. So, first thing replace the cam with a bigger cam but not a race cam just something to make the valves work like it should to put out the power that that engine is really capable of.

Despite the rust in general it needs a sheet metal fixing as soon as possible. The general shape ok. . The electrical fuel pump, very clever... nice idea. Interior for a 46 year old car, decent I guess. Keep it in the road, hit the street!!!

Best I would do on this car is $5,000. I've restored 2 of these and they were in better shape than this. I paid $4800 for both. One was supposed to be a parts car and had the slant and the other was the 318. I bet that roof is in really bad condition under that vinyl top. Would be nice to know what model 4 speed transmission you put in it.

Boo vinyl tops. All they do is trap moisture and kill cars. Imo I never thought they looked right on a car anyway.
