My first car was a 73 Fiat Spider. I pushed that car down every street in my home town. I really miss that car. Nice video.Gary

Hey Mark, loved the video. My father in law has his late father's '73 Fiat spider. We have kicked around the idea of doing a restoration as the last time it ran was in the late 1990s. I was just curious if you could give me an idea of the cost of the full restoration if you are willing to share?

Beautiful restoration. I had a '78 when I was in my early 20s. Great car. I'd be curious what kind of price this car you command... just in case I win the lottery...

I would love to know the size of the rear speakers, and more importantly, HOW you tucked them into the rear side panels. I've never been able to figure out a graceful way of doing this, as those panels are largely drainage trays for the top, and exposed to the elements very shortly behind the surface?

I have one of these. Curious how much to set aside to ship it to you and have you do the same thing.

This is my go to on my modification ideas on my 124. Thanks for this video. I have a question about applying jute and dynamat for the floor and door. In particular the doors. I'd like to somehow have that solid "thunk" when I close my door (as opposed to a hollow "clank"). If I apply dynamat to the door, will that help? OR is it has something to do more with applying a rubber stripping door seal?
@1565socalmark7 жыл бұрын
We use Hushmat, just put a panel on the inside of the outer door skin. It doesn't have to completely cover the panel to get a nice solid feel
@stezo157 жыл бұрын
Mark Allison Thanks again. Is Hushmat the same as Dynamat? Or is it a completely different type of material?

So how was the wiring harness ordered I have tried to get one from painless twice now and they just tell me no we don't do that when clearly that's wrong
@stumpyjohnson7798 жыл бұрын
+Blackened Platypus Let us know if you get a reply from Allison. I have the same question and have gotten the same answer from Painless.

I have a 1974 the breaks are spongy. how do you fix that?
@stumpyjohnson7798 жыл бұрын
+George Saldivar Uh, George, if you have to ask, I'd suggest you find a good brake mechanic; I'm just saying, you know.

Mark; You specified a "Painless" wiring harness, as you have on several of you rebuilds.Which one do you tend to use? A call and two emails to Painless and they just keep telling me, in effect, they don't have a clue. Ford? GM? Mopar? Custom? From the video it LOOKS like a Mopar PN 10127, am I close? A little help would be much appreciated.

Which will promptly be broken down again, not because it's a Fiat but because you guys keep importing Russian crap and selling at a premium. No reason properly installed rubber control arm bushings AND tie rod ends should be fried in under 6 months.
@stumpyjohnson7798 жыл бұрын
+Alex Mawdsley Really??! Where did you get "Russian"? Fiat is Italian. Have you ever driven one? Have you ever ridden in one? Have you even ever SEEN one? And please, on what premise do you make such a statement? Really??!
@alexmawdsley8 жыл бұрын
+Stumpy Johnson ever heard of Lada? They built a licensed variant based on the Fiat 124 in Russia. It was generally regarded as poorly built crap. Your knowledge of the subject is clearly very very small. Do some research next time. For your information, I drove my 1980 today. It did wonderfully, as usual.

Too much color matching, the blue paint looks good, I'm sure the workmanship is fine, I like a more stock original car to drive, I have been working on Fiats since I worked at the dealership in the early 80s. Have a 85.5 rack and pinion Spider and prefer to leave it stock
