Hi, Todd. I remember when you started this project and every time I see pictures of it and even up until now, with the video. It looks like Porsche will be hiring a new engineer. It's really, nice.👌🏾

Beautiful craftsmanship so glad you went over those subtle touches because we probably might not notice but when you point them out those subtle elegant touches really made the difference. Love the flush emblem!

I am kicking myself for not picking these up years ago when cheap. Very nice build. Colour looks great. Can’t wait for more content. Really like the 914 6 GT factory race cars. Those flares on the rear look great.

Like what you have done although I'm sure Georg Hussy doesn't like it. I have 2 914's. Both are '74s, one is a 1.8 and the other is a 2.0. Loved the recessed Porsche emblem. I got rid of the side markers, the windshield squirters, front bumper rubbers and I made my own tops for the bumpers (divinycell,, fiberglass and epoxy). These cars are so underrated. Hope to be done with the second one in a few months.

Beautiful build! I had a 73' 1.7 back in 1985. It got me all through college and a few years beyond. I have always wanted to do a restomod 914 but there have always been too many other projects. My parents live up in the Lehigh valley of PA so maybe I will be able to see yours at some point

I've always loved the 914 , great car for a canyon carver like you're looking to build. I'd love to find one of these a build a fun little driver just like you're doing. I've had my 91 964 Turbo with 36k original miles since around 2004, although I don't drive her much but when I do I enjoy her immensely.

Your 914 looks great so far. I am also restoring a 1973 914. My dad bought the car in 1975. So far I have done a 5 lug conversion. I had PMB replate and rebuild the calipers. I have replaced all the bushings in the rear trailing arms along with powder coating the trailing arms and brake disc covers. I also zinc plated the bolts and hardware. I also replaced the shocks and springs. I added turbo tie rods and nw ball joins as well. I am now doing the same with the front suspension. I have fuchs replicas for the wheels. You work is really nice. What did you do with the underside?

I think your video rocks! Cool video thanks! Have a 914 74 .. Bought it 20 years ago off a guy who blew the engine. Bought it 1500$ without engine. Still have it and it’s been stored indoors since. Now with more time available the plan is to kind of like you restomod it but more track than street but still want it to look street legal. I’m a race track member and it’s my hobby. Don’t golf! Would still want to be able to go for drive on street. What engines are you considering or is it original engine? Again cool video and your workmanship looks above standard! Great job!
@bigalsbikes65956 күн бұрын
Thanks! And yours sounds awesome too! Going with the original engine just beefed up etc don’t worry no plans of golfing;)

I used to walk by derelict 914s in my neighborhood. I always liked them, but my dad was into muscle cars though. He would just scoff at them and claim they were just VWs.
