more efficient Compacting methods were devised and revopak had to run continously to be efficient so was heavy on fuel as well - there are emergency stop buttons on all modern dustcarts but not on early 1970s motors - the modern operator can still get his hand caught if he isn't careful

fast and effecient packing mechanism although I assume it's packing force or load wouldn't be as much as the other rl's with packing mechanisms like the leach's or geesink's.

Where are you getting all these videos??

I wonder if safety issues eliminated these trucks. I mean if you got caught by the compacting mechanism, you'd become ground hamburger. It would not be a pretty way to go.

I could not agree more. Like many of the old continuous loaders, the Revopak is a potentially dangerous machine. I would say the same for the American Roto-Pac. Loose clothing would be a hazard!

If you are talking about the Ginove/New Way Roto-Pac, it is a ASL and it wasn't really made for bulky waste to where the driver has to step out.

@imhotcause The design was meant to "shred" refuse using fixed and moving teeth in a continuing eliptical cyle was a VERY sucessful design, modern packers desgins just "pesss" the garbage rarther than shredd it thus reducing it and volume. It does sweep the hopper clean depending on what it is chewing on. There are still a few of these working in Malta.... and its not full of electronics to go wrong... simple IS EFFICIANT. hope that helps...
