1973 Super Beetle Strut Removal

for what it's worth, in 1973, there were two types of struts on them. yours is the early style with a press fit strut tubes. my 73 is later and its strut is bolted on at the ball joint. On mine, you can drop your ball joint bolts, and it comes out without a compressor. that also explains the two types of struts with the wider shoulder on the stem were your center nut goes.
