That was my first snowmobile when I was about 14. I hated that thing. The transmission never worked right when it was cold. It frequently leaked. The motor always shut off when I was in deep snow, left me stranded many times. Thanks for sharing, it brings back all the good memories when it did run well.

I have a 1973 panther, actually a couple of them. In my opinion, the technology of the 70s was far more advanced than today.

I remember those well when they came out, I think the early 70 to mid 70's had some of the best machines and models like the Cat EXT and El 'Tigre, Yamaha GPX, Rupp Nitro and Magnum's Chaparral SSX, Sno-Jet SST just to name a few of the old guard muscle sleds.. Thanks for the video!

My grandfather had two of those! 1 had 400mi the other 600mi… sold both for $300… unbelievable right? These machines were absolutely cherry.

I Still have a Panther VIP in the Crate. Never taken out and Assembled. Dad being a Cat Dealer we have a few Vintage Cats still in Factory Crates.

The great thing about these mid-70s Arctic cats is the colder it is the faster they start the higher they live the faster they are the louder they scream

I have about 30 old sleds on my property. All are parts sleds. I have a 74 VIP that someone gave me. That transmission was junk.

Electric Start was Standard on the VIP. Otherwise it was an option you could add on after the Sale.
