One of my school days friends parents had one of these, only it was a stationwagon. My buddy was a few months older than the guys and gals we all hung out with so he had his driver's license before any of us. His parents would let him do almost anything, so when he got his license he'd pick us up and away we'd go! We used to turn the air filer cover upside down then drive it around town as if it were a stock car!😅 16 years old, drinking beer, firing up a little pot and smoking the tires off the thing whenever we had to stop at a stop sign then either go left or right! lol Of course, only one tire would spin but we didn't care. Growing up in the 70s was a blast! Especially when this all took place in Caribou, Maine. Way up north! Interstate I-95 starts in Houlton, Maine and we were an hour north of that!! I'm talking we were in northern Maine! None of the ridiculous restrictions were forced upon us like these days, yet pretty much everyone i know are doing very well today. Not a mass murderer among us!

In the early 2000s, I made a Bluesmobile out of an 87 Crown Victoria. Sure it wasn't "screen accurate" but it was mine. It was a total POS and lasted me about 2 years before the engine died.

What a Beautiful car! I idolize the original movie. My father was a musician, played bass and sax. Seen many of gigs. Grew up with big blocks on the road everyday and everywhere! My brother and I, both appreciate the “Mission from God” & save the church. We both are religious people who appreciate the mysterious ways of the Holy Spirit! We wish it had the iconic 440 for the asking price. It’s 400 is still a big block motor and will move it very well! It could use the ac conversion and installation done to be a truly enjoyable car in the heat! Though I’d bet that would make it more hard to decide to sell. It’s in extremely good condition to near perfect condition for 50yrs old. What nostalgia?! What an iconic and a beautiful timepiece! Very Cool Ride! Like us all, wish I had the $$$$$, 440 and a good A/C compressor around! I’m just putting my first rebuilt transmission 4R75E in my 07 P71 Crown Vic. @ 170k. There the weak link in the Vic’s. But the rest of it’s about bulletproof! I miss the full size, v8 engine (preferably big block) and body on frame cars!

It's technology was way ahead of It's time for 1981....A semi monocoque lightweight frame, super aerodynamic, rear engine, 2.2L 4cyl twin turbo making 450+ with a 200mph top speed. A modern carbon fiber monocoque body, carbon fiber wheels & twin turbo k20 or k24 version's overall performance could eat alot of V8 supercars.

did the gauge bulbs burn out? something about the glow of those cats eyes green lights. my 69 Fury had them.this car handles and sounds like my old Fury. i would have that car still if it had been a convertible. 4 door hardtops are beautiful, but convertibles are just instant classics.

I grew up in the city of Chicago southwest side next to Midway Airport and I remember all those smashed up squads from the movie laid under the Stevenson expressway next to Western Avenue seemed like a decade. They were city cars not to be touched by the public. Eventually they pulled them out and cleaned it up.
