My Dad had a '74 Mark IV. It was always his dream, since he was a boy, to own a Lincoln. His sweat equity made it happen.

Was mentioning competing brand names in commercials not a custom or not allowed at the time? The narrator's reference to "that other luxury car" sounds odd by today's standards.

By 1974, Caddy was getting killed by GM cost cutting. The Lincoln was far better.
