This could rate as the most beautiful motorcycle ever made.

Nicest Commando on the planet. Worked in a Norton shop in the late sixties (Jack Baldwin's in L.A.), riding Commandos at 16 was a real thrill.

very nice, I bought a 1972 k2 CB 750 Honda brand new in gold finish and my mate bought a canary yellow Norton Commando, sheesh I loved his Commando for the sheer looks! it was a neat time to be alive and ride these wonderful machines! in my mind the Commando was better quality, it just looked like it was made of more substantial materials with a lot of style! .

Got my first Norton in 1970, a red Commando 'S', later my main ride was a red '73 850 Dunstall that I stumbled across. Colorado is perfect Norton country, many great memories. That bike is a beauty.

That is clearly a labour of love!! And it sounds like all those upgrades should make it very rideable. Congratulations Sir!😊

Beautiful bike. I had a ‘73 850 Commando. Great bikes. Thanks for vid.

NICE! I’ve had my 73 850 for 26 years , it had 11000 miles when I got it . I’m also thinking of getting an electric leg as kicking it is getting hard from a damaged knee and the riding position is giving me hip cramps as well at times but I’d never sell it.

Beautiful bike, I’ve recently acquired a cNw build, the yellow one well known on KZbin. I’ve had it on the road for 2 months and already clocked up 1400 miles. These bikes are for riding as well as admiring, ride it while you can and enjoy its magic, they’ll outlive the both of us😂😂😂

😂😂 He will probably sell you red candies but not the candy-red Commando !!

Sounds terrible with that single Mikuni. That little blip on the throttle reveals the starvation. Some owners don't seem to be able to tune dual carbs so they take the performance loss from the single. Put the duals back on and ride a real Commando.

How did it come with a single carbeurator ?
@joelaichner30252 ай бұрын
Rear brake on the left , shifter on the right , you do drive on the other side of the road in England , is that why ?
@jasonjordan1936Ай бұрын
yes

No, the right side shifting was just what they went with back in the days prior to industry standardization. Many brit bike were right side shifting but not all. The shift pattern is also up for 1st, then 2nd, 3rd and 4th are down. Known as GrandPrix shift pattern...theory was racers preferred pushing down on the shifter to change to higher gears when coming out of tight corners....no need to have foot underneath the shifter lever, risking contact with pavement when leaned over hard to the right side.

@ my 2000 Victory Sport Cruiser , pegs raised 1 inch forward 2 inches , has a reverse gear pattern also now. , it is better 1 up 4 down

What is the cost of your bike ?
@TornadoCAN995 күн бұрын
Astronomical since he states the work was done by professionals....I'd guess more than $30k USD sunk into that one.
@joelaichner30252 ай бұрын
That cost more than close your eyes and toss a penny in a well and make a Wish ?
@NortonCombat-ib3xw23 күн бұрын
You spent all that money on cosmetics and aesthetics and you install a single Mikuni ? Oh well, performance is not for every owner.

Those stupid handlebars ruined the bike undrivable ,uncomfortable
@simonwalker7957Ай бұрын
You’ve tried them have you? I’ve the same on mine with the Corbin seat, did 5hrs in a day, no issues.
@iosis99Ай бұрын
They look like 2 inch rise European bars. I think I once had a Norton with similar bars. Your complaint is that they're uncomfortable?
