That commentator Barry Davis should have come out with a public apology stating that Colin Bell "fell over the ball". Was he on something that made him lose his sight? How clear was that for everyone to see that it was a viscious tackle by Buchan which was really a career ending one. Why was Davis afraid to call it out for what it was? It was disgraceful. You could hear he kept saying he fell over the ball as Bobby Charlton speaks over him. He shouldn't have been a commentator if he was afraid to call things as they were!

And Buchan came up with the same tackle a few weeks later. Always class him as a clogger/donkey.

Hi, I'm not as sure as you are that it was deliberate. There's a film of Colin saying he didn't think it was, though more out of hope than conviction. He was so so brilliant and fit wasn't, he very possibly he had 10 years in the game stolen from him.

Typical BBC liar and never speak the truth...it will always be that Buchan deliberately injured Colin bell and that's disgusting.so is the deliberate lying by davis# defund the BBC ..stop paying your TV licence...@NO TO DIVERSITY...

It was deliberate. Destroyed the career of a great player, and got away with it. No surprise that the Utd obsessed media swept it under the carpet.

It's still so so sad to see Colin Bell's brilliant career destroyed in a split second. I'm still unsure whether it was deliberate by Buchan or not - Colin said that Buchan never came to see him, or spoke to him about it, which I reckon is disgusting.

Buchan paid for it ,as he lost his place in the Scotland team to Tom Forsyth of Rangers. 😂

Yep, Buchan wasn't even worth talking about, a complete waste of space ... he even cost United that 3rd goal.

The early diagnosis of Colin Bell's injury, as given to Barry Davies, proved to be wholly inaccurate.

As a red to make matters worse there was a bus strike that day ... No buses whatsoever ... Had to book on a private 'Bullocks Coach' from Cheadle full of blues ... Ahh they were the days ....

Yep ended up winning the League Cup. It was a Golden period for City. Id say from 1968 to late 70s. Then chairman swales along with Malcolm Allison we overspent on Average players. And really didnt recover after that for years!!!
