As a 9 year old Derby County fan, I sat in my bedroom listening to this game on the radio. This is actually the first time I've seen footage of it .

I remember this from the time. Watching the highlights from the first leg in Derby now, 4-1 to Derby didn't really seem a fair reflection of the first leg. Real Madrid had real attacking menace in the first leg and when I found out it was 5-1 in the return, I actually wasn't that surprised. The number of really good players on both sides was incredible....it's a pity Franny Lee wasn't 5 years younger!

Fantastic refereeing as usual in Europe's top competition... That flop for the penalty was disgraceful, and of course the official failed to do his job. European cup was and always will be spoiled by terrible decisions.

In the first leg the ref disallowed a Real Madrid goal, that was clearly onside.

I don’t blame the refs, if they gave the right decisions they would “disappear” as it was during Franco’s reign and he is a Real Madrid fan (who basically turned Real Madrid into a monster and ni we was not a good guy

1975. The revolution here in Portugal was boiling. And two weeks after that game General Franco died and Spain was closer to democracy.
