1975 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Classic - Spotted in Ferndale, Michigan during Woodward Dream Cruise

1975 has never looked finer, cruising around in this 1975 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Classic. Oh wait, this is not 1975! I spotted this classic car, an American Cruiser, at the 24th annual Woodward Dream Cruise at a little side show in Ferndale, Michigan. I believe the cruise started as the Ferndale Dream Cruise, am I right? Thanks for checking it out.

My first car was a 1975 Chevy Chevelle Malibu Classic(got it in spring of 1982)....it had been repainted black(started metallic green.....you could see under the trunk and hood where they hadn't painted)with a black vinyl roof.Believe it or not it had Trans Am wheels!AC didn't work,the clock didn't work,the gas gauge didn't either.Five months after I got it the water pump went out.One of the front shocks broke/bent but I went and put air shocks on the back.The engine was a 350...it left a trail of smoke driving down the road.My dad got me a used engine to replace the original(cost me ... I didn't get anything free) but it wouldn't stay running in cold weather until it warmed up.I kept a brick in the passenger floor to use holding the gas pedal down.The original engine was so worn that you could turn the crankshaft pulley by hand.The alternator went out too!I traded it off after three years(money pit!!!).....it was 10 years old.I look back to that car and compare it to the vehicles I've owned in the last twenty plus years and there's no comparison.Quality-wise ,today's cars leave it in the dust .Though I do enjoy seeing videos like this of old cars restored..... if given a choice between a restored Chevelle or a late model truck(any make) I'd take the truck.Ps:it also had a split in the right rear wheel well.... I found it when I pulled the rear seat out(the smell after a rain )and found a 1/2 of mud..Fond memories? A few(first car,first job,first date)....but I wouldn't want another one .Just my two cents.

Nice! I had a 1976 Monte Carlo Landau for My 1st car and I wished I never sold It Now! Now back at the end of November 2022, I bought a 1975 Monte Carlo Landau in Bright Blue Metallic with a White Landau vinyl top and White all vinyl interior with swivel bucket seats and medium blue carpeting, dash, steering wheel and back package tray with a 350 V8! I am going to keep It Forever & I love It like My '76! 😍👍

Owned the same car, year, and color, except a wagon. A nice riding, comfortable, well-built car. Sold it to my Dad. He got some nice use out of it before he got rear-ended on the highway and the car was totaled.

I had a 77 Malibu Classic. It got a only 17mpg hwy. It also started rusting after about 3 yrs. The hood started to bend in the middle too. But hey, it was the 70's, and it was made in America.
