Beautiful!!!!!! I had one of these when I was 17 years old (1977) I loved it! Same color, I had a faring on it, a Barnett racing clutch with 750 springs, and a Kerker header. Glad to be alive today...I had no sense at 17. I once got the speed wobbles at 120mph, scared the crap out of me! So many found memories of that machine...one day I'd love to own another one.

My first bike, bought second hand in 1978 for $900. Red like this one. Kerker exhaust, K&N pods, main carb jets to #85, 7" headlight from a CBX, nylon rear drive sprocket with a couple less teeth to make 60mph @ 5000 RPM, S&W progressive shocks, wider rims with wider tires, Fiamm horns, cruise control throttle friction lock, tank bag, soft panniers, and a duffle bag. Deep throaty induction sound at low rpm with the pods...lovely. Road it all over the eastern US. I'm older now and have taken more expensive vacations, but no vacation was ever better than the couple summers spent touring the northeastern US, camping and staying at youth hostels. Food, gas and lodging at the youth hostels for two weeks was about $200.

I had an exact model. R registration. Paid £175 for in in 1985. Engine was in bits and my friend rebuilt it for me. He had a blue version of the same bike. Loved it but than met my future wife and felt it was not cool to date her on a bike. Bought a lousy Renault 5 for £1000 and sold my bike for £50.00. Memories.......

They came in yellow, if I remember correctly it was called Parakeet Yellow. In fact I prefer this colour to the red or blue options.

Can't remember having to pull the clutch in to start mine ? Looks a nice bike,
@DMSJagXK3 жыл бұрын
peter mackin You definitely didn't have to pull in the clutch to start it. I had a brand new one in 1975 in blue. Sold it in 1977 to get the 750F, in crimson. Loved both bikes.

@@DMSJagXK hi David,,I was surprised when the guy said the clutch would need pulled in to start.I know mine doesn’t.
@martinelectraglide84903 жыл бұрын
You had to pull in the clutch when the engine was shifted into gear, as far as my memory goes. Otherwise the bike wouldn't start at all.

Well, that's so beautiful, it's more beautiful than mine, mine has some 16k, and I've had her since Sept. of '82. Mine's all fixed up,,, pretty, same as that,,, but : NOT sooooooo "SHOWROOM"! I'll be selling mine fairly soon, as I'm getting up in age, and I don't wish to "die" with it! Someone else needs to get it and drive it, and love it also!
