Out of all my bikes, my 400F Supersport was my hands down favorite, I kept mine 25 years before a truck backed over it and broke my heart.

I had the 74 Honda 400four Super Sport as my first bike. I did all the maintenance and modifications. Cafe'd it out along with quite a few other tricks. That bike would do a wheelie with my 225 Lb weight. Stable at 110mph. even though it had an electric starter ( which I used on hot summer days at stop lights) , It never failed to start with the very first kick start now matter how cold. I put 120,000 miles on it before I bought the V-45 Magna and put 130,000 on her, then the Pacific Coast 800 115,000, then the 98' ST1100 with 180,000, then on to my current commuter an ST1300 now at 128,000. I haven't owned a car since 1979. Cold and rain.....I have a rain suit for the 60 miles a day. Weekends are for my 2014 Gold Wing Valkyrie here on the central California coast. I'm now 67.

Gorgeous bike ❤ I had a Yellow 1977 model. Loved that thing. Wreck it and traded it for a 1979 750 F that I never could bond with. Looking back, I wish I had kept the 400. The thing was the perfect size and handled great. I had friend who was a motorcycle mechanic who did a couple of modifications to mine and it would run about 110 mph on flat pavement. The 6 speed was an awesome feature. Great cruising bike, but would run almost as fast as the Yamaha RD 400 which was quite impressive.

I cant remember when I bought the bikes but I had a UK registerd 1975 (p) 400 and a CB750F1 Both IMO were superb reliable machines. (Cam chain on 400 ?) CB750F1 did not match Honda's appearance standards (much better F2 released not long after.) CB750F1 Stripped down and managed to block an oil jet feeding the cam when putting back together. CB400 replaced the knackered cam chain . IMO bike was too small.

I t was my dream bike when I was 12 years old, at the time it seems so big, finally got one identical to that in the video in 2011,. Fortunately I was able to buy a few spare parts in Germany and the US at the time ( nothing big really, just new NOS mirrors , wiring loom, regulator, etc). It is in fact a very small bike, like a toy, but it is a pleasure to ride. My bike is in the same awesome condition, only the muffler is different.
