Hi Micou, Awesome video. I had a '75 DT250B here in the U.S.. It was orange. The 75 & 76 DT400s had exactly your yellow color scheme. I picked a nice one up a few years ago. Too nice to ride off road I use it only for beer runs. I picked up a used 1978 DT400E monoshock in 1981 that I ride to this day. That's 36 years of off-roading in tough, rocky, rooty terrain. Pretty good testament to their ruggedness. I believe it is called the DT400MX in Europe. This one takes me from my home to the forest 15 miles away, ride all day, and back home. Very tough terrain here in the cascades. We ride around Mt Saint Helens (the volcano) sometimes. That's up in the Mt. Adams Wilderness. We snowmobile St Helens in wintertime. I usually ride around the area near the Washougal Motocross Track if you've ever seen it on TV. I put a Malcolm Smith Skinny Fat Tank on my 400E last year that bumped my range to 100+ mile range. There are versions for your bike too. I hope you post more videos of you and your bike. They pump me up to ride when it's raining around here. It rains ALOT in the Pacific Northwest. Here is a link to a wonderful website dedicated to our bikes. yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums Please visit, join up, and share your experiences with this great group. Very knowledgeable, friendly group. I've been riding Yamha Enduros since my dad bought a pair of HT1-Bs in 1971 (purple). I've had a 175, 250, and the 400s since then as well as a 1976 XT500 and several other dirt only bikes. My current dirt-only bike is a 1984 IT490. Keep posting and BE CAREFUL out there.

Besides of the DT 250 which in that design was the most beautiful Enduro form Yamaha ever - Yamaha DT 400 or Suzuki TS 400, which one is the better allrounder?
@micoumeekoo6 жыл бұрын
Hello. The DT400 and TS400 are pretty close. The Suzuki is a little bit bigger, heavier and longer. The big two stroke can be wild but accept not too fast riding. But I prefer the Yamaha DT400 with a lower seat, more compact design and torque at low end. Off road, the suspensions are too stiff but OK on easy trails.

That’s a beauty. As a kid I had a JT-1 mini-enduro, which looked like the full size bike. I hadn’t ridden a dirt bike for 45 years when I took a trip through the alps a few years ago. The sight of the landscape inspired me to start riding again, which has been great. You’re living my 50 year old dream. 😊And so am I!

Boy, I wish I had my 1975 Yamaha DT175 back. I rode it everywhere in all weather in Wisconsin in the early 1980s.

Gosh I miss my 74 Suzuki ts250 . I bought it when I was 16 and rode it to my job while in high school. It was actually almost mint.

Micou, I have exactly the same DT 250 in my workshop, completely taken down into pieces. Looking forward to the day when she look shiny like yours and ready to run. A tour through the Alps would be high n my wish list. Keep on publishing videos so we all have some inspiration for the long hours at the work bench.

Great bike, but it's sad that I have to turn the sound down to watch your videos because of the ridiculous sound effects, and thus, don't get to hear the great 2-stroke engine...

But when you freewheeling is the motor still getting oil on A) autolube b) premix ???
@micoumeekoo3 жыл бұрын
Hi When freewheeling, the engine is not running, so no need of oil. Only the gearbox is turning, but it is oiled buy the projection of oil picked by the gears. The autolube is sending oil only in the cylinder for the piston.

Does it damage a 2 stroke engine to shut the fuel off and run it til it stops running?
@micoumeekoo5 ай бұрын
No problems. If the engine is at iddle and as long as the oil pump is running, I think there is no risk.
@DH-mf2lv5 ай бұрын
No oil pump. Premix.
@micoumeekoo5 ай бұрын
@@DH-mf2lv I think it's not risquy anyway if you keep low revs.

Lacets de Montvernier?
@micoumeekoo6 жыл бұрын
Bonjour. Oui, les lacets de Montvernier rendus célèbres par le Tour de France. J'y passais déjà en 1971 avec ma Yamaha 250 DT1.
