This is the new project! I bought a 1976 Camaro off Facebook Marketplace for $1000. It's an unfinished project. Let's install a rear spoiler and a hood scoop, transforming it into a Z28.

I got a different car for everyday of the week….and they all have more than double the power of any other civillians cars on the road……..dont be upset cause some of us like shiny stuff and not busted up hooptys…..i didnt say it needs a $10k + show paint job…….just a nice solid shiny color with some pearls or flake will work….if you can dump thousands into a motor and build and install it in your garage….you can definitely paint a car!!!…..i drive my cars so i get it when you say people have no respect for others stuff, i like to enjoy my cars so thats exactly why i said a $10k + paintjob is not needed….unless your car sits in the garage and only get trailered to a car show…..but wheres the fun in that , right!!!

Black z28 with the orange and yellow accents around wheel wells is pretty sharp. Saw a red qith black on the top with orange divider stripe rs 77 was a head turner! Just my 3 cents of ideas.

The yellow parts car has the correct steering wheel on it. I replaced headliner in my 79 with a aftermarket plastic one has a textured side so adhesive will stick for headliner but i left it as is still looks nice and it was black like the interior.

I love what you do. Just a couple things I wished you showed us. 1. How you came up with the drill points for the spoiler. 2. Trunk latch adjustment. Reason being is I’m in the same boat :/ Keep up the good work and appreciate you sharing 🫡

I measured where the holes were on the yellow car. The latch needed to be bent back a little then used adjustment screws to line it up flush.

On the paint, go yellow or whatever main color you like. Then just paint the scoop black. Easy peasy and I think it will look pretty sweet that way.

Yeah, I put a 442 sticker and a Hurst shifter on my 86 Cutlass, but it didn’t make it a 442. Not until I dropped the 455 from a ‘76 Olds into it. Boy, did that wake that car up. Big block torque but she cruised down the freeway in overdrive at just above idle. Still drank gas but was fine as hell to drive. Problem was getting enough traction to go. Figured out if I put it in 2nd on the column it wouldn’t spin quite so much. First was too deep for a hard launch.

I have a Johnny lightning car. 1975 Camaro has the black hood and partial roof with yellow on his sides and red pin. Striping looks very sharp just a suggestion.

I think the decklid hinge springs were a bit stronger on the factory spoiler cars so the trunk lid would stay up bc of the extra weight.

Any time I worked on the rear spoiler and hood on camaros the holes are always large.

Way to go, a scoop and a spoiler sports it up as a hot rod. In the old days we would take floor pans out of wrecks and trim them up to replace rusted out floor pans in a car we were building. Didn’t matter to us what make or model they came from as long as we could use them. Kept us out of the fiberglass business that way. The rat rod scene using road signs and screws to patch rusted out floors is not professionally a safe or structurally sound repair and should be avoided. I have seen some well built rat rods that had perfect floors with a road sign screwed to the floor to look like it was used for flooring. When the motor starts twisting the car, it is unsafe, that happens up here when frame rails slim down from surface pitting and the floors and rockers are soft. Screw in all the road signs you want, that thing is not safe in curves or collisions. A guy can make a living replacing floors up here. Glad we still live in a world we can hot rod in and build cars any way we want them to be. Nice job on the car, it is going to look great when you are done with it.

My buddy has the same wind the main trunk one on his on both ends they are pins and the 4 bolts that bolt to the trunk lid are the only ones that bolt on his Camaro. This is a Canadian car as well so don’t know if they did different stuff at other plants when they were building them. Good video like watching you bring these cars back on the road.
