I just saw another one exactly like this, but had a 400 engine, and needs a total restoration. Same color, same camper, same year. They said it came from North Dakota. Posted 5 days ago. If I had the time and money, I'd go get it. That's really nice.

I used to have a '76 Blazer. I loved it! As good as it was, even with the 'Chalet Option', it shouldn't be pricd as it is. If soemeone paid thaat much for it, they're suckers!

I believe the SBC 400 emblem That these came with is missing, Truck has cruise control too! Water storage under the rear right bench seat , those have been recovered, original material was like the vinyl that covers the swing out cots, reading lights are factory. 3 way power fridge, heater would run you out of there! Many good memories.

that is a really cool camper setup. So much function and style. You also dont need to reserve a campsite anywhere either because you can drive down any dirt road and park anywhere.

Imagine GM, Ford, or Toyota selling truck-camper packages similar to this. Be something really nice to have offered in my opinion. this is a good video.. i like this package.

I sold new Chevrolets at the huge O'Rielly Chevrolet dealership in Tucson from '75 thru '77....then moved to the cross-town Chevy dealership. Our truck manager ordered a couple of these Blazer Chalets for the showroom. Now Tucson is a MAJOR 4x4 town.....a million people and half of them love to get off-road, with plenty of pretty Sonoran Desert to do it in. Those poor Blazer Chalets....they SAT and SAT and Sat FOREVER...and wouldn't sell. They eventually became known as "Butler's Folly".....as new truck managaer Mike Butler.....STILL alive and a bud of mine in '23.....took all kinds of ribbing for those things being ordered on his authority. The Chalets were cool.....BUT WERE WAYYYY TOO OVER-PRICED. That was the only problem. I can't remember what they sold for MSRP....but it was many thousands more than they should have been. Oh.....I'd LOVE to have one now, however. Yes I would! jbeintucson

All of the '76 model year Blazer Chalets and the GMC Jimmy Casa Grandes were painted in this same color combo, where the only difference in some was that the truck side accents were in a metallic maroon paint in a very similar tone to the burnt orange seen here. The '77 Chalets were done in 5 different color combos (metallic dark brown/tan, metallic bronze/tan, pastel all-tan; pastel orange/tan & pastel yellow/tan) with tricolor yellowish stripes while the '77 Casa Grandes were in a pastel tan / white with their own distinctive tricolor orange-ish stripes.

Check video @ 3:57. Stamped data tag that is pop riveted on after paint has overspray on it top right corner…likely been in a shop at some point. Doesn’t really detract from the novelty or value in most peoples opinion.

I live in Billings, Montana and have since 1979. My best friend in elementary and Jr high lived across the street. His dad owned a Blazer Chalet. Any chance you have any papers telling who owned it here in Billings? If the first and last name would have the initials WP or BP(if owner used the familiar version of 1st name); I literally grew up seeing this truck in the driveway across the street. Back then(if the same vehicle); my friend's dad had had it painted all pure white with no factory decals other than the badges. Might not be the same rig; but Billings was and is still a fairly small city (even though it's Montana's largest). I have never seen another "Blazer camper" (as I called it for lack of knowing the true nomenclature)....here in Billings or anywhere else; including N. Carolina when stationed at Ft, Bragg while in the Army from '88-'92.
