I worked at a Buick/Oldsmobile dealership back in 1976 in Wisconsin. Doctors loved the Toronado due to the front wheel drive. We only sold 3 that I can recall, all doctors.

Hey Jeff this is a really nice 76 Olds Toronado Brougham.Always loved the body style of these.Love those door handles and that interior looks really comfortable.This car was well taken care of and plenty of power under that hood.Nice unrestored Olds at a decent price!.Thanks Jeff!.😎

If gas prices come back down this car would sell for quite a bit more than they are asking. I drove one made in the 60's and it was a pleasure to drive, but it loved gasoline. It did have plenty of power, and rode very well even with a plain interior. Thanks for showing us a couple nice older land yachts here lately!

Yeah, I've just been trying to have a little variety lately. This would be a nice, comfortable cruiser though. Thanks for taking a look!

I had one of these! Burgundy with Burgundy vinyl top, brougham windows, coach lights, Burgundy leather seats. It could get up and boogie, with that huge 455 V8. I miss it. Got it from my dad. Hopefully I can find another one someday. It was beautiful to cruise in.

My Uncle Gay, that was his first name and I am old , but he worked for the B&LE RR and he had the exact car but it was triple red. He sold a 72 Toronado and bought it outright. Back in the 70's if you made 80k you were living high on the hog.

Only problem with those is if something breaks you will never find the parts for it besides the general maintenance items. Thanks for sharing your spectacular find with us and we will be liking and passing it on.

Such a massive car but still only seats four.
@RamblinAround2 жыл бұрын
It does seem a bit excessive.
@jayson6572 жыл бұрын
4? It seats 6. There’s no drive shaft hump so the center seats have more leg room than a RWD car.

my moms first fiance's dad had a 1975 Olds Toronado both my maternal grandparents had had 1972 Olds 98 Holiday Coupe & Delta 88 4 door hardtop sedan then Grandma also had a 1978 Delta 88 with a 425 CI or 7 l engine engines were downsized for the 1977 model year there were a number of large coupes/sports coupes back then I.E. Cadillac Coupe Deville/Eldorado Lincoln Continental Mercury Cougar RX7 etc.

She'd be a cruel mistress to feed, but it would be hard to find a more comfortable highway land yacht. Like the Caddie Eldos of the time, the front wheel drive and engine/transmission weight combine to make them exceptionally good in snow, too. A guy could dust off the old 8-tracks and settle into a cushy wayback machine.

At this point a land yacht like this one should only be used as a weekend cruiser. One very nice looking car. It is also the higher Brougham trim.

Aren’t older vehicles exempt? Even in the people’s republic of NY older than 1996 (obd2) don’t get inspected for emissions.

@@jayson657 in california 1975 and older gas powered vehicles are exempt, this one still would have to be checked, unless it was diesel powered, they are exempt up to 1997
