I had A 76TA factory 4 In the floor 400 455 heads dome top pistons big Cam with headers an oversize rear end. Definitely built for top end !! Silver with black interior and no bird ! I loved playing with the vets on the interstate back in that day ! Black-and- silver nascar special edition Had no chance !! Lol One bad-ass car back in the day!

I had a silver '75 Trans Am in the early 90's. It was rusty and had lived a hard life. I pulled the drive train, rebuilt the motor and installed it in a mint '80 Firebird Formula.

Wrong shaker for a 76, should be the rounded one, not the square one. Non original motor? The 76 455 option was 4 speed and 3.23 gears set up and very few made. The auto was not available from the factory.

Nice car, has incorrect wheel flares and chin spoiler though, those are for the 79-81, 78 and down they were rounded not squared on the edges.

The truth is the 76 455-HO was just a standard 455. I found out this truth a couple of years ago. However it still was the most powerful V8 during the time which was about 200 HP.

@@CoyoteClassics My father had a 455 with the big valves had heads sent out and had new valves put in then put motor in a 73 firebird but sold car over 10 years ago a kid bought car then sold motor for 500.00 I told the kid that I would of bought motor if I knew you were selling it.You cannot touch these Motors for under 4,000.My father also had the factory quarters inner and outer panels and when the guy payed for them then he practically jumped he knew he stole them.

Everyone was doing the aftermarket sunroof in the 70’s. If it was done right it didn’t hurt the car. I’d rather have that than those stupid T tops that leaked all over the place. I had two T top cars and just finally got rid of it I got tired of having to bring a raincoat along just to drive it.
