I entered a local pinball tournament in 78 and it was all about getting a big score on Grand Prix cause it would skew all the other scores. I got past the qualifier but was eliminated in the second round.

Liberty bell has the same playfield as this one. The motor for that big spinning thing seems a little slow on yours compared to some other machines

Liberty Bell isn't quite the same. It doesn't have in-lanes whereas Grand Prix does. What "big spinning thing" are you referring to? The score motor?

@@londonpinball Under the play field, there is a part that has several pieces of plastic with indentations on it. This unit does a few things, such as 500 points, just triggers the 100 point relay 5 times. And it resets the bonuses when the game is restarted. It does more but that's the just of it. It's controlled by a motor, the speed of it on yours seems a little slow.

@@DatamasterCorporation What you're referring to is called the "score motor". You can get a good sense of the speed of this machine's score motor at the :45 second mark in this video. Compare that to the speed of the bonus countdown on this other video of mine here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnumhX2prK6AgJY. Are they different? Maybe slightly. But after 50 years and eighty thousand plays, I'm not sure one can expect precision out of these things. I worked on a Williams Triple Action recently that had the wrong score motor installed in it and it ran several RPMs slower than it should have. Someone had swapped out the original motor for a different one. Game still worked fine, though. I guess the point is that one can't be too picky about these things; it'll drive ya crazy!

@@londonpinball I'm sure there is a good amount of conditions of these units, I have two willams machines that seem to be about the same speed, not a whole lot faster than the ones in your video, but defiantly noticeable. You can see this machine on my channel. There is another video of a little chief on you tube that seems to have a very fast score motor

@@londonpinball seems to be it is already but but isn't soldered to the lug which makes me think poor connection thanks for the reply going to do that now
