Dodger stadium in 77 was my playground. Met Steve Garvey again, and He was kind enough to give my brother and I Rawlings first base mits. The model he used. Greatest day of my life. Dad got a hit for the third straight year in the Dodgers Old Timers game too. The topper was getting to go to game 4 of the WS Guidry vs Rau The Louisiana Lightning shut us down.

Your father must have been Norm Larker; he probably had some stories about playing in the Coliseum.

Baseball was awesome in those days. Players were true professionals, not the show boaters they are today. In today's game, a player gets a single, he has to wave to the dugout, and say "look what I just did" stupidity, just like little children.

Back in 1977 if a player showboated he would be drilled in the back by the pitcher in his next at bat.

I always get goosebumps watching the ending slow motion to that music (gathering crowds)….
