Now this is a good video. My switch is stuck in the run position. Its a 1990 olds 88 though. But i bet its pretty much the same. I have to pull the ECM fuse and pull the battery cable off. It will turn to start but it won’t turn back to off or lock.

I have a 96 Eighty-Eight, dealing with the same issue! Key is stuck in on position. I been having to pop the hood, pull a spark plug wire, and disconnect the battery, then manually lock all doors every time I park. I am about to fix that now though thanks to this vid. Probably going to change the wiper/turn signal switch while I'm in there too as the wipers work, but stay on until I turn the car off. 🤣 Still a damn good car though. Great for the daily work commute.

@@houstoner Man i know how you feel. This video was almost 100% the same on my car. I do recommend using the steering wheel puller because i tried to get away without using it and I completely destroyed the triangle mark on my steering shaft so now i have to drive it with the wheel turned to one side. That steering shaft is stupid soft metal. But yeah i agree, these cars are completely worth it. I absolutely love mine.

I have a problem with the small metal piece used for the high beams. It also holds together the ignition linkage and the tealt (column) switch and another plastic piece and it all fits behind or between the turn signal switch. Also the wipers are on. Can't turn them off. I pulled the small cover off. 1984 Chevy Caprice.
