Those old motorhomes were really nice, I always wanted to get one but never had the means to restore it and also keep it somewhere. Cool stuff.

Too difficult and costly to restore most when you can pay the same amount to convert a school bus or city bus into the vehicle you want.

@@Inspector-71 most of them the older one were made of plywood and pressboard or materials close to that. Just demolishing the interior is a money losing venture. If you want to build a motorhome just buy an older intercity or school bus gut the interior and build the setup you want. School buses are cheap after Their service life ends

The GMC Motorhome is the greatest RV of all time. GMC made just under 13,000 Motorhomes between 1973 and '78 and over 7,000 of them are still registered and on the road today! It is a testament to the design and the build quality. Modern RV's are so poorly built that there are literally thousands of videos on KZbin documenting the problems with them.

I know. The Oldsmobile stub and ladder frame are genius. Most motorhomes are rickety as they age, full of leaks

Bill Massey in one of the clubs has a record of VIN numbers there are now a confirmed 9000+ still accounted for and on the road.

@@mudman7618 great chassis but without any rebuilders its better to use either a Class C motorhome like Ford and Dodge or a commercial chassis like the GM P30 that Fleetwood and Winnebago use
