Thanks so much Mark for this video. I'm getting a little long in the tooth and these bring back so many great memories! Weston vs. Calvello--what great times!

In all the years I watched Roller Derby, I think this is the first time I've seen Gil Orosco throw the first punch.

I hope you don't mind me responding, but I was thinking the same thing. He even picked up a penalty!😮

I love the Groll and O’Connell combination! I remember that combo back in 1971-72 season with the New York Chiefs!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS, Mark for reaching 1,000 subs. 🎊 👏👏 You're the only one, I believe, keeping these memories alive. 🎉 What a game... Talk about a nail-biter. The size differences, especially on the men's team, were very evident. Again, with two agile, nimble, speed demons like your Dad and Mike G., against skaters so much larger... WOW... I think Charlie and the commentators expressed their thoughts on that subject well. In any case, it seemed like every jam in this game was hard skated, on the women's and men's teams. Thank you, Mark for bringing us multiple quarters of a game, when you can. I am really loving it. 🛼🛼🤗🎆

Thank you for congratulating me on my 1,000 subscribers! It was no easy feat and personally i don’t care if i have one thousand or one million subscribers i just want everyone on KZbin to enjoy and see all of the Roller Derby games, footage and from my own personal collection and to appreciate the amazing Sport that dominated the Sports Industry and had millions of fans in the peak of its Historic in the 1960’s-1973 and then was revived again thanks to David Lipshultz from 1976-1988. Thank you for your support and encouragement on my KZbin Chanel! 👍🏻😃😁🏆

Love the action. Charlie looks like he could have skated another ten years. And no offense to Don Drury, but he is no Walt Harris.

I agree 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻..wish Charlie O’Connell skated into the early 1980’s at least

Just think they were eventually bought by Roller Games 😂

And just think: that's why Roller Derby died.

@donniehagy5125 Thanx Donny you always tell it like it is. The only one I maybe detest more than Griffiths is Vince McMahon. They both discarded any semblance of sport in their endeavors. For me the biggest embarrassment and insult ever was Rock n Roller Games. Thank goodness for these tapes of roller derby.
